Today quick3D Software is pleased to release it's fully-featured Professional edition into the freeware space. Registration fees will be entirely eliminated, and the download will be available free of any charge. Additionally, the Geometry and Viewer editions will naturely go away as their feature sets were only subsets of the full Professional edition. Any future support, somftware features, and additional 3D file format support will be funded almost entirely from donations going forward. Please support our cause to make working across multiple 3D formats quick and easy by making a donation of any amount, or commenting and assisting in the forth-coming Support Forum.


quick3D Professional is the flagship product from quick3D Software family, featuring the powerful 3D file format translator that is the heart of the quick3D technology. quick3D is designed to be an effortless way of previewing a wide spectrum of 3D geometry and texture-mapped, coupled with robust coverstions between formats. This software is a time-saving productivity tool, on top of a powerful 3D file format viewing and translation engine. quick3D's latest version includes support for a huge range of file formats, ranging from those most traditionally used in the gaming industry all the way to common formats found in science and academic fields.

Supported formats include 3D Studio MAX®, Truespace®, RenderWare®, DXF™, Alias|Wavefront™, Cinema 4D®, DirectX®, Softimage|XSI®, Lightwave®, Renderman®, OpenFlight®, 3D G\ ameStudio™, Quake™ 1-3, AC3D, STL, PLY, OFF, VTK, and BYU, among others.

For some formats, animation features are available in addition to the core set of functionality. quick3D's animation panel allows for frame selection and has basic animation controls. Presently this animation engine can convert animations for the Quake (.mdl .md2 and .md3) and 3D GameStudio (.mdl) file formats, and hopefuly for many more formats in the future, which will be issued to the software via the optional auto-update patching mechanism.
In the next few months the official quick3D web site, quick3D.org, will have a few new sections added to it.  A new open Support Forum section should be able to much better provide help and support to everyone.  The web site also includes purchase information, user guides, sample files, support information and more.
